Wow what an inspring video clip I did not expect that at all. That video had lots of meaning and the music was terrific. I defently believe that they were trying to express being individual and different is ok even if it does mean taking a risk. If you believe and love something then go for it other wise in the future you will regret not following your dreams. Life is filled with obstacles and we have to find the strength to get past them. I believe that the man on the street was alot of her strength pushing her torwards something she loved and was great at. Her obstacle was defiantly the kids at school treating her badly for wanting to play the violin and not the piano. In the end though she followed her heart and put on a spectacular performance! Great choice for an assignment Mrs. Roper : )

I know a few towns in the U.S. that are supposedly haunted but I am most familiar with St. Augustine, Florida. My grandparents, aunts, and uncles all live in the town that is known to be haunted. St. Augustine is one of the oldest towns in the U.S. so alot of history has been made there. When you enter the city though there are two huge walls that surround a small portion of the town. Story is a long time ago one of the gate guards was murdered and any time after 12 a.m. his dead daughter comes and sits around the gates. We have been a couple of times but have never seen anything?? I do personally believe in some kind of superstition…such as I think we can get scary or weird vibes from certain places or things. I also think ghost or spirits are real but not in the halloween kind of since. More in an unknown presence or some sort of orb?? Who really knows though?

The Wizard of Oz is about a young girl Dorothy and her dog Todo going on a long journey. The witch in her dream is supposed to represent the evil next door neighbor that is trying to take away her dog. The scarecrow, lion, and tin man are all necessities to everyday life that she has to learn through her journey. The yellow brick road represents the journey through her dream that leads her to the ending. Throughout the movie different characters and setting represent things that are happening in her life but she is dreaming about.

Self image is the personal view we have on ourselves. It is mental or self portrait. Self image is developed by our parents, mirrors, media, friends, and family.  A positive self image can cause physical, mental, and social greatness. While negative self images leads us to see all our faults and imperfections which take over our bodies.

Today in society self image plays a major role in life. People are not worried about a healthy self image which consist of loving and accepting ourselves anymore. It’s all about money, boobs, lips, hair, and a butt that looks gorgeous. In the end it will all never lead us to the happiness we are all so desperately looking for.

Media is now so harsh on men and woman to look a certain way everyday. So when you mess up the slightest bit all imperfections and faults are judged for everyone to see. It is a killer battle for people to look like all the stars and models in magazines and movies. When really the secret is that not even they are real. The real beauty comes from within and it will slowly but surely work its way out : )!

I have never used a blog as a class project and for individual assignments. So this a first time thing for me that I am excited to try! I am hoping that this will allow me to learn more about myself and others as we all share our thoughts and feelings.
